Breakfast with Daddy

On a rare, free morning, my Daddy meets me for breakfast.

For all the times my Daddy carved time out of his busy schedule to be with me, it is now my turn to act in kind.

As I look into my Daddy’s twinkling eyes, I am reassured that I am his little princess no matter how old I get.

This connection reminds me of my heavenly Father, who always has an encouraging word when I make time to be with Him.

Be still and know that I am God.

Gift of Time

Each day matters. We are not promised tomorrow. If the Lord wills, we will proceed with our plans.

Spending time with loved ones makes memories last beyond their final days. Another person’s time is a precious gift to be treasured; time can never be regained once spent.

Time well-spent—loving God and loving others—builds a mansion of treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy and thieves do not break in and steal.

Teach us to number our days aright that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Rock of Refuge

Some days, everyone seems to spit at you, challenge you, scream in your face and treat you like a slave.

Whenever those days come, tears overflow unbidden. But, through the mess, I come face-to-face with my beloved Savior who endured the cross to set me free.

We do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize. We have the Lamb of God, who walked through the valley of the shadow of death to conquer the grave.

Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.

Renewed Peace

Worries flood my mind as details begin to paint a picture of the workday. Tainted by innumerable unknowns, questions arise to feed the pit of concern.

In the midst of turmoil, peace reigns when I release my doubts into the hands of the One who formed me in my mother’s womb.

As I drive away, the Wonderful Counselor, who searches my heart, reminds me daily of His power, love and grace.

Sisters gather to eat a meal, and we reflect on what matters most. Everything else fades in comparison to His unchanging glory.

Rest in Christ today.

Sister Talk

Days come when discouragement rests heavy on my heart.

Walking in a fog of unworth, I gather with the Bride of Christ. A sister takes her place beside me as a shepherd leads us weary sheep to the Living Water.

Filled with the Bread of Life anew, my sister and I reflect on our lives in light of the Truth, who created everything. Nothing is impossible with God.

We may plant and water, but God causes life to grow. We may find ourselves in different stages of life, but God has a perfect plan.

Together, we remember to trust our Creator.
